Untitled-as-of-yet Vaguely Edwardian sequel! It's, um, pretty much just procrastination porn. Same universe as These Wall Are Built To Fall
, two or three months later. Frank/Gerard R-ish, unmitigated sap in that it includes blowjobs and handholding AT THE SAME TIME.
It's autumn now, and the first frost will be upon them soon. Frank walks from his cottage to the stables in a jacket and scarf, and keeps the horses' stalls as dry and snug as he can.
In spite of the growing cold, Gerard still goes riding often. He always leaves wrapped up securely, but usually returns with his scarf loosened and the first two buttons of his coat undone, cheeks tinged pink, the very picture of temptation.
They've done their best to be discreet, acting on their desires only when they can be assured of privacy. It's already Gerard's custom to keep late hours and rarely explain himself to anyone, so it's not uncommon for him to spend almost an entire night in Frank's cottage, slipping back to the house before any of the servants are stirring.
Other nights, Frank comes to the main house, instead--Raymond hasn't been brought into their secret yet, but Gerard's request is enough for him to leave the door to the kitchen garden unlocked, and Frank slips in late enough for the house to be still. Gerard's bed is a marvel, nearly as big as Frank's entire room, piled with down pillows and covered in linen so fine and smooth it feels like silk. The first time, Frank had been afraid even to touch the sheets, but Gerard spreading himself out in the middle of the huge bed had proved to be all the incentive Frank needed to overcome his fear.
They've tried to behave themselves in the stables, where it's not impossible that someone might come upon them without warning. But Frank is only human, and the way Gerard looks when he returns from his rides, flushed and disheveled and breathing heavily, makes Frank's hands ache to touch him. And one chilly afternoon when Gerard dismounts and pulls off his gloves to flex and rub his stiff fingers, Frank can't help but reach out, cupping Gerard's hands in his own and squeezing gently.
Gerard makes a pleased noise and turns his hands over, tangling their fingers together. "You're warm
," he says, as if it's something marvelous that Frank should be warm when he's been standing in the stables and not gallivanting about in the wind, and moves closer, pressing against Frank. And Frank shouldn't, he knows, but he puts his arms around Gerard, rubbing his shoulders and back and letting Gerard tuck his face into the hollow of Frank's shoulder.
It begins as a simple embrace, comfort and warmth, no more than that. But Gerard breathes against Frank's neck, and Frank raises a hand to smooth and stroke Gerard's windblown hair, tangling his fingers in the dark strands. Gerard's hands, at first pressed between Frank's chest and his own, glide downwards to settle on Frank's hips, and he raises his head, which means that Frank has to tilt his own head up to look at Gerard.
And when Gerard closes the distance between them with a kiss, Frank can't summon a word of protest.
The kiss is slow and sweet to begin with, but urgency blossoms between them, until Frank eases away, bracing his hands on Gerard's shoulders to try and put some distance between them.
"We shouldn't--" he whispers. "Not here, someone might come--"
Gerard doesn't relinquish his hold on Frank's waist, but neither does he try to pull Frank close again. "If I were needed for anything while I was out here, Robert would know to come himself," he replies.
Frank wavers, but Gerard's horse is standing behind them, still saddled. "I should see to the horse first, at least," he says, and leans in for a brief kiss before pulling away.
Gerard hovers nearby as Frank unsaddles the horse and rubs it down, rambling on pleasantly about his ride. Frank gets the animal settled in its stall and turns to find Gerard standing close.
"I'm going to kiss you again, now," Gerard announces, and leans in, only to have Frank duck out of the way, grinning.
"The stall on the end is empty," Frank points out, and tugs at Gerard's hand, though Gerard needs little urging.
Once inside the empty stall, Gerard crowds Frank up against smooth wooden boards and kisses him with a kind of fierce gentleness, cupping Frank's face in both hands.
"I've thought about this all day," Gerard whispers between kisses. "I can't wait until tonight, Frank, I want you so badly..."
Frank lets his head fall back as Gerard's mouth trails down his neck, tugging at both their clothing. Coats and scarves are discarded quickly, neither of them caring about the cold as they press against one another, but when Frank's hands go to the buttons of Gerard's waistcoat, Gerard pulls back, catching Frank's hands in his own.
"Wait," he gasps. "I want--"
"What?" Frank urges, gently and without hesitation, certain that there is nothing Gerard could ask of him that he would not be willing to give.
In answer, Gerard takes a step back and sinks to his knees.
For a moment, Frank can do nothing but stare blankly as Gerard's hands go to the fastenings of his trousers. But as Gerard leans forward, Frank moves, catching Gerard's face in one hand and tilting it upwards.
"You shouldn't--you don't have to--" Frank protests, unable to find the words he wants--that Gerard does far too much, treats Frank too much like an equal already, and if either of them were to do this, it should be Frank on his knees for Gerard.
Gerard turns his head to kiss Frank's palm, smiling up at him gently. "I want to," he replies, and the warmth in his eyes and voice leaves no room to doubt his sincerity.
He leans in again, and Frank has to tilt his head back and close his eyes, only to have them snap back open as wet warmth envelopes him, so sinfully good that it's shocking. His hips rock forward of their own volition and he tries to hold them still, but he can't keep his other hand from settling on Gerard's head, stroking his hair with trembling fingers. Gerard pushes into the touch eagerly and with a soft noise of pleasure, and at that, Frank has to look down.
Gerard looks as debauched as Frank has ever seen him, fully-clothed but disheveled, eyes half-lidded and lips stretched wide, and Frank's knees go weak at the sight of Gerard like this, at the very idea that Gerard wants
this--for the pleasure Gerard is taking in the act is unmistakable--and then Gerard does something with his tongue that can only be called obscene, and Frank's knees go weak all over again.
Frank's fingers twitch, wanting to tighten, and he untangles them from Gerard's hair carefully to let his hands fist at his side instead. Gerard has one hand on Frank's hip to steady them both, but with his other he gropes blindly for one of Frank's hands, tangling their fingers together.
Frank feels himself tensing with the nearness of his release, and he raises his free hand to push at Gerard's head, stammering out a warning. Gerard stays where he is, eyes darting upwards to meet Frank's, and that's what pushes Frank over the edge. He throws his head back hard enough to fetch himself a sharp blow on the stable wall, eyes shut tight and mouth wide open and oh, God, Gerard is swallowing
Gerard catches Frank as his knees give way, easing him down into the soft hay that litters the floor of the stall. The moment Frank recovers the slightest control over his limbs, he fumbles at Gerard's trousers and shoves a hand inside. Gerard tumbles down into the hay beside Frank, rocking into the touch, and Frank kisses Gerard's open mouth and tastes himself there as Gerard shudders and cries out, spilling into Frank's hand.
Frank puts his other arm around Gerard and holds him close, both of them still trembling with aftershocks, shaking like a pair of newborn colts. "I love you," he whispers into Gerard's mouth and Gerard's reply is slurred, but no less sincere for it.
After a few moments, they stir, Frank pulling his hand from Gerard's trousers to wipe it clean on a handful of hay, Gerard groping for his coat and tugging Frank back to drape it over both of them.
"I should go back to the house soon," Gerard murmurs, and then, "But not yet."
And perhaps Frank should protest, shouldn't let Gerard go on lying in an empty horse's stall, but Gerard looks as beautiful on the ground with hay in his hair as he does lying in his own bed, and Frank can't bring himself to say anything to make Gerard leave his arms.
"Not yet," he agrees, and settles back down, letting Gerard draw him in for another kiss.
